Charlie’s Fixtures started its operation in November of 1989 at a small storefront on Washington Blvd, Los Angeles with only 10 employees. The owner, Charles Lao is a son of a Chinese department store owner and was raised in the Philippines. He worked for one of the largest dealers of used restaurant equipment, conducting a ten-month study of that company’s business model before signing on with Avery Restaurant Equipment in 1988.

Charles, had acquired a second warehouse on Venice Blvd in 1994 and was able to move the entire inventory from Washington. Charlie’s Fixtures on Venice Blvd houses a massive showroom with everything you’ll need in a restaurant. Currently, he has another warehouse at Jefferson where large equipments are stored and a total of 40 employees working for him.

He now has plans of opening back the Washington warehouse sooner to better serve his increasing number of clients.
